He could turn him into a pile of mush, except he didn't let her see that. Victor didn't let Ari see a lot of things. He never told her the pain he felt when she left. Because he was Victor Creed and he wasn't supposed to feel anything. He wasn't supposed to care about some girl leaving. And he sure as hell wasn't supposed to love her. But he had and he did. And there was nothing he could do about that except try to be in her life again. Victor knew that's all he had going for him now. Ari. Being with Ari. Loving Ari. Any numerous amounts of "words" plus Ari. Because now it was only Ari. She was all he had and he was damned if he was going to let her get away from him. So he'd chosen a private fenced in park. Either way this meeting went he knew it wasn't going to be appropriate for the public eye. It either would lack a lot of clothes or spray a lot of blood. And that wasn't something others needed to see. Especially if him and Ari were working things out. Or fucking. Which he guessed was kind of working things out...but through orgasms. Ari really needed to get there before he lost his nerve. Normally, Victor wouldn't be scared. Confidence had slowly evolved into a big head and that made him a lot less susceptible to the idea of fear. But Ari terrified him. Not just because she was an angry, scary little woman. But because whether she knew it or not, she had an insane amount of control over him. She could make or break who he was as a person. And he'd come to terms with that. Trying to fight it had failed and he knew the best victory he could hope to win was just admit that it was true rather than the alternative. The difference was admitting it to Ari. No doubt his words would come out sarcastic, Victor was Victor after all, and he'd have to disclaim that what he was saying wasn't sarcastic. That it was the truth. That he loved her. That he cared for her. That he wanted her back. And that it had cut him up inside when she left almost as bad as Jimmy's departure had cut him up. But in order to say any of those things, Ari needed to get there. And that part of the plan didn't seem to be turning out so well.

She knew that, Chleo knew that, everyone who knew more then she told knew that. Ari just had to answer that phone call. She just had to hear his voice. She just hat to see him. She was beyond help at this point. This meeting probably wasn't going to end well, someone was going to get hurt. Whether that was Ari or Victor or some random innocent pedestrian who just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. But Ari didn't have an answer for that. All in all she had no clue what was going to happen.
In a way Victor was right, she made a choice to lead but she just couldn't stand to stay in that hell of an organization. All was fine until Styryker went off on his treasure hunt for those meteorites. He was hell bent on it he probably would have killed all of them to get to it. Then again Ari was sure that he hated mutants and the incident a couple of years back hen he invaded the mansion she was sure of it. But Ari tried not to think about the past, it was done and over with everyone made mistakes not just her. But unlike others she tried to let it all go, she knew she couldn't take it back, no matter ho much she wanted to.
But Ari knew this wasn't all her fault. Victor didn't go with her he chose to stay at Weapon X. He chose to not leave with her and the others. He even chose to kill some of her old team mates, and for what? Power? Proving himself better then everyone? Those men she considered part of her family, her pack and her mate killed them. Murdered in cold blood. Now Ari had no problem killing people she even enjoyed it sometimes, but she had shared a home with them, cooked them dinner, fought side by side wit them. In a way she felt like she almost loved them, they were like brothers to her. Her brothers in arms. But they were gone and there was nothing she could do about it. Ari tried to convince herself that all of this was Victor's fault, but she knew that wasn't true, it was everyone's fault. And as much as she wanted to blame this all on Victor she knew she couldn't.
Ari stopped as that familiar intoxicating scent clouded her senses, just the way it did all those years ago. Her mouth watered as her fingers trembled in anticipation. Being a canine feral Ari's sense of smell was stronger then a feline's. She wasn't even within two miles od the park they were meeting at and already she could smell the wool from his ridiculous trench coat. The wind coming her way helped carry his scent. Ari knew that this was it, she either kept walking or or turned around and went home. Home, she knew that mansion wasn't her real home her home was waiting for her in that park. She kept walking knowing that she couldn't back out of this, he would find her some how where ever she went.
Trees came into her site and his scent got stronger as she went. Further into the small park she eventually saw the monstrous form of the man she claimed as her own. She swallowed her nerves and stood up to her full height, which was nothing compared to his, in an attempt to command some dominance in this situation.
