It was late, Rogue knew that much. She could tell it was somewhere past midnight, just by the sky's darkness--the way the night just seemed to shift with the change of midnight. She got up from her bed, groaning and running a hand through her hair, the left side still ruffled and messed up, the striking white streak on that side sticking out in a weird zigzag.
She made her way from her room down to the kitchen, dressed in a pair of long flannel pajama pants and a gray wifebeater that accentuated the curves on her hips and breasts---if Rogue was more awake, she probably would've been more embarassed, and if she didn't like her breasts so much--- she wasn't wearing any gloves and as she rummaged through the fridge still half asleep, she noticed, but didn't do anything.
Grabbing a plate of baked chicken, she put it in the microwave, slumping down into a seat and crossing her arms and leaning on them like she was sleeping in class, falling into a light sleep that could be broken with the slightest noise. The microwave dinged, and she jerked up, but then settled back down, falling back into the light sleep.

Blegh. You know what sucked? Insomnia sucked. Not that Kitty had a chronic problem, but the lack of sleep was becoming more and more frequent in Kitty Pryde's life. Honestly, there could be a numerous amount of reasons for Kitty to be stressed out to the point that she can't sleep. First, she was always bogged down with school, Second, she was one of the youngest x-men and that added a lot of unnecessary stress, and third, she missed her parents and they were kind of going through a rough spot and that kind of worried Kitty. But what could she do? She was across the country living her own life. It was just an awkward situation for everyone.
But after spending a couple hours tossing and turning, kitty decided to hop out of her bed and head down to the kitchen and maybe try getting a glass of warm milk. That helped people sleep, right? Kitty exited her room by phasing through the door instead of pushing it open on its squeaky hinges and made her way down stairs. Her dark brown hair was tied up into a pony tail and she was wearing a pair of booty shorts, a light blue t-shirt, and a pair of bunny slippers. Yeah, Kitty was freaking cute when she wanted to be.
Kitty phased through the door of the kitchen and saw Rogue slumped down on the counter. Raising an eyebrow a soft smile formed on her face. Rogue and Kitty had their rocky moments, But Kitty was quite thrilled that Rogue didn't blame her for the whole 'Bobby' thing. "Rogue....Rogue! she called out to wake up her friend. The microwaved beeped again, reiterating the fact that it was finished cooking. "Whatever you cooked is ready." she said simply enough with a smile.

Rogue was snapped out of her sleep by another girl's voice. She looked up, brown eyes focusing on Kitty blearily before her brain did. God, the moment you wake up, that tiredness that hits you sucks so much ass. "Oh." Rogue said simply, getting up and grabbing the plate, then looking at it blandy before putting it back in the fridge.
Sure, her and Kitty had had their rough patches, but it was Bobby she held the grudge on, not Kitty. Kitty'd been a victim, like she had. She smiled back. "Thanks but....Ah kianda changed mah miand." she said, her thick Southern accent coming out even more thick then usual, thanks to her being pretty sleepy. She yawned, shaking her head and waking up a bit. "So uh...what brings you down here?" she asked, though she knew she could be asked the same thing.
In all honesty, Rogue really did like Kitty--she was nice, easygoing and fun to talk to. Much better then being alone most of the time. Sure, she had friends here and there, but it still stung that the newer students---and some of the older ones---shyed away and were afraid of her just because of her power. They never really bothered to get to know the person behind the strange hair, the gothic looking clothes, the name that held so many implications, and the power.
